‘The Woman Who Flew Away’ by Lee Dean
Lee Dean’s The Woman Who Flew Away is a moody, stylishly crafted graphic novel a couple of younger lady of blended race who struggles to make sense of the course of her life in Seventies America. Pregnant after an affair together with her married boss, Greer is shipped to Key West, Fla., to have the kid in secrecy. Whereas rooming within the dwelling of a born-again, usually judgmental Christian couple, Greer displays on previous lovers, nurtures a brand new relationship with a migrant gardener, and begins having vivid goals about somewhat lady from the Twenties. On this 10-page excerpt, Greer is badgered by Kate, her overbearing host, and later exhibits drawings she’s fabricated from the little Twenties lady to Pablo, the gardener. The Woman Who Flew Away by Lee Dean is forthcoming from Iron Circus Comics in March.
